Airversa’a new QliQ Smart Button, a fiber-enabled controller designed specifically for the Apple Home ecosystem, lets you trigger up to nine automations or scenes through its three buttons, according to the company.
Airversa QliQ Smart Button Driver
Known for its smart air purifiers, Airversa is now adding a sleek new AQliQ Smart Button controller accessory that works exclusively through the Home over Thread network and lacks support for the Matter smart home standard at launch. The device therefore fits neatly into the framework of Apple’s smart homes. It requires users to invest in a corporate ecosystem focused on the Apple Home app.
You can completely complete the setup through the Home app. However, Airversa’s Sleekpoint companion app offers additional customization options for users who want more granular control over device behavior.
Three buttons, nine automation options
The controller contains three physical buttons. Each of them supports single-press, double-press and long-press actions. This configuration allows users to run up to nine separate automations or scenes from a single device.
When activated, the device provides multi-sensory feedback. This includes brief green LED flashes, audible beeps and haptic vibrations. You can customize or disable these feedback mechanisms. This gives you flexibility in how noticeable you want the device to be in everyday use.
Rechargeable design with versatile mounting
Unlike many competing smart buttons that rely on disposable button batteries, the QliQ includes an internal rechargeable battery charged via USB-C. This eliminates the costs of continuous battery replacement. But it requires regular charging. Airversa includes a short USB-C to USB-A cable in the box along with a magnetic mounting plate with an adhesive backing.
The magnetic system allows the button to be attached to walls or metal surfaces such as a refrigerator door, although the device is sized for a North American wall plate without the switch box mounting hardware.
Market positioning and availability
QliQ enters the competitive market at $29.99 for a single unit or $54.99 for a two-pack. Currently, you can only purchase the device on Amazon.
QliQ’s competitive position faces immediate challenges from established alternatives. For example, the recently launched Ikea Bilresa smart button undercuts the QliQ on price. Whether the Airversa’s feature set and build quality justify the premium over budget alternatives remains to be seen.
