Apple today unveiled the new Apple Watch Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop, honoring Black History Month and celebrating the power of connection. This special edition band is available to order now.
In keeping with this theme, Apple is proud to support organizations that inspire connection and foster creativity through impactful programs in under-resourced communities around the world. This includes grants to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Urban Arts in New York, Youth Music in London, the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney, and Enactus México in Mexico City. These new grants build on Apple’s long-standing commitment to supporting economic, educational and creative opportunities in communities around the world.
This band, along with previously released Black Unity groups, was designed by black creatives and allies at Apple. Showcasing the colors of the Pan-African flag, the Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop is created by weaving strands of recycled polyester yarn around ultra-thin silicone threads using an advanced precision braiding machine. Soft with a textured feel, it is also sweat and water resistant. Upon closer inspection, the band reveals several shades of red, green and black, giving it depth and vibrancy.
