After today’s update, Apple plans to add support for six new soccer leagues in the next version of the Sports app, MacRumors discovered
Earlier today, Apple released version 3.7 of the Sports app, which introduces support for every PGA and LPGA tournament with live leaderboards, round-by-round leaderboards for every golfer, and real-time updates to the app, widgets, and live activity. The app already supported NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, Premier League, NASCAR, F1 and more. The update also expanded the football lineup with support for the Copa del Rey, Coppa Italia, Coupe de France and DFB-Pokal. Plus, tennis coverage now supports real-time stats, making it easier to keep up with the action.
Backend code spotted MacRumors reveals what’s next for Apple Sports in version 3.8. Apple plans to add support for six South American soccer leagues, including Brazil’s Serie A, Argentina’s Primera A, Colombia’s Primera Liga, Ecuador’s Serie A, Peru’s Primera Division, and Chile’s Primera Division.
The Apple Sports app was launched in 2024 and offers an easy way to view live scores and stats. It is available for iPhone in the US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and other selected European countries.
