UPDATE
Apple Fitness+ expands to 28 new markets
In the biggest expansion since launch, the service will be available in Chile, Hong Kong, India, Japan, the Netherlands, Singapore, Taiwan and more, and will add dubbing in Spanish, German and Japanese.
Apple today announced that Apple Fitness+, the award-winning fitness and wellness service, will expand to 28 new markets – including Chile, Hong Kong, India, the Netherlands, Singapore, Taiwan and more – on December 15, with Japan launching early next year. In the service’s biggest expansion since its launch five years ago, hundreds of Fitness+ workouts and meditations will be digitally dubbed with generated voice in Spanish, German and Japanese, with additional dubbed episodes added weekly. Fitness+ also introduces a new music genre, K-Pop, to the service.
“Through seamless integration between Apple devices, Fitness+ helps inspire users to have a healthier day,” said Jay Blahnik, Apple’s vice president of Fitness Technologies. “From seeing real-time personal metrics right on your screen with an Apple Watch or AirPods Pro 3, to being able to take the service with you wherever you are on your iPhone or iPad, we’re providing users with unparalleled motivation. We couldn’t be more excited to bring this experience to even more users around the world with our biggest expansion yet.”
With the expansion, users in 49 countries and regions around the world can access the service’s 12 different workout types—including strength training, yoga, HIIT, Pilates, dance, cycling, kickboxing, and meditation—with episodes ranging from 5 to 45 minutes on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. Users can charge their Fitness+ workouts with Apple Watch or use AirPods Pro 3 to view personal metrics right on the screen,1 such as heart rate, calories burned, progress on their activity rings,2 and Burn Bar,3 allowing users to compare their efforts with others who have completed the same workout. Using custom plans, Fitness+ automatically creates a personalized schedule based on users’ preferences for exercise and meditation, including their main activities, duration, trainers, music and more.
Dubbed in Spanish, German and Japanese
To make Fitness+ even more user friendly for users around the world, the service is introducing digitally dubbed versions of the exercises and meditations in Spanish and German, with the Japanese dub to follow early next year along with the service’s availability in Japan. Exercises and meditations feature a generated voice based on the real voice of each of the 28 fitness+ trainers.
Every week users can find new episodes dubbed in these three languages along with the original English versions. Users can select their preferred audio language on the audio controller after starting a dubbed exercise or meditation. Additionally, if users select Spanish, German, or Japanese in the Fitness app settings, the episode will automatically play in that language if a dub is available.
Get ready to move with K-Pop
Fitness+ turns up the volume with the new K-Pop music genre that will be available for all types of workouts with global hits from the best artists. K-Pop joins existing music genres including Upbeat Anthems, Latest Hits, Hip-Hop/R&B, Latin Grooves and more.
