Tim Cook held a comprehensive meeting with Apple employees today and as reported Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, CEO, suggested that “new categories of products and services” were coming that would be enabled by artificial intelligence. Here is what he said.

CEO Tim Cook holds an all-hands meeting with employees to discuss AI, succession and more

Apple CEO Tim Cook addressed employees at an all-hands meeting today, promising to lobby hard in Washington on immigration.

Cook also reportedly shared his thoughts on succession and executive departures at Apple.

But the CEO also used the opportunity to brief Apple teams on the impact of AI on future product and service categories.

Mark Gurman writes at Bloomberg:

Responding to concerns about competitors launching new types of AI devices: “There will be new categories of products and services that are enabled through AI, and we’re extremely excited about that,” he said. “We are excited about the opportunities Apple is opening up.”

He also shared another direct quote from Cook. The CEO said, “I truly believe there is no company better positioned to enable our customers to use AI in deep and meaningful ways than Apple.”

Elsewhere in the article, Gurman adds, “Discussing artificial intelligence, Cook said new devices will take advantage of the technology.”

Some of these new categories of AI-enabled products and services may take years to materialize. However, rumors suggest that we could see at least a few unveiled this year.

Apple Glasses are big in the product department and Bloomberg previously announced that they could be introduced this year before shipping next year. In terms of services, a new AI-centric Apple Health+ service is expected in iOS 27.
