iOS 26.4: Here’s when Apple releases first beta – 9to5Mac

iOS 26.4 is set to be one of the most important updates for the iPhone, offering a suite of new Apple Intelligence and Siri features. New report from Bloomberg today reveals Apple’s timeline for the launch of iOS 26.4.

These new Siri features were first announced at WWDC 2024 with the expectation that they would launch as part of the iOS 18 cycle. In last year’s announcement, Apple formally delayed the features. Last month, it announced a partnership with Google to use Gemini models to power its new Siri and Apple Intelligence features.

We are now very close to actually testing the new features we have been waiting 18 months for.

In the latest edition of his Power On newsletter Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple expects to release the first iOS 26.4 developer beta in the week of February 23rd.

There will also likely be a public beta version of iOS 26.4 sometime later this month or early March. If Apple starts beta testing iOS 26.4 this month, it will likely be released to everyone sometime in late March.

iOS 26.4 will include three big new features for Siri:

  • Personal context
  • In-app and cross-app actions
  • Awareness on the screen

Personal context lets Siri find specific information in notes, texts, and emails. On-screen awareness will allow Siri to perform actions on your screen. Finally, in-app actions let you control specific app features with Siri.

In addition, iOS 26.4 is expected to include new emoticons, Apple Core, battle cloud, treasure chest, and more.

Of course, that could change if Apple runs into some last-minute snags in the development of these new features. However, that is today’s schedule.
