Apple TV won three more Directors’ Guild awards, this time in the Comedy and Documentary categories, as well as Outstanding Advertising.
Apple now has a good record for TV series nominations at the Directors’ Guild Awards — “Ted Lasso” has seven — but few wins. Notably, “Chemistry Lessons” won in the 2024 drama series category, and Apple won the children’s and advertising awards.
Now at the 78th annual Directors’ Guild Award, Apple has doubled its winning streak. At a ceremony in Beverly Hills on February 7, 2026, Apple won:
- Outstanding Directorial Achievement in a Documentary/News Series: Rebecca Miller for “All That Filming Isn’t Healthy” for “Mr. Scorsese”
- Outstanding Achievement in Directing for a Comedy Series: Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg for “The Oner” in “The Studio”
- Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Commercials: Kim Gehrig for “I’m Not Remarkable”
Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg paid tribute to the late Catherine O’Hara while accepting the comedy award.
“Honestly, there’s no one we’d like to thank personally at this point more than we’d like to thank Catherine O’Hara,” Rogan said.
Goldberg added, “We grew up in Canada and she is and has literally been our idol since we were kids.”
The advertising award was director Kim Gehrig’s fourth nomination and third win. She previously won in 2022 for Apple’s “The Greatest” ads and “Run Baby Run,” an iPhone 13 ad.
Ben Stiller was nominated for “Severance” in the Dramatic Series category, but lost to Amanda Marsalis for “The Pitt.”
