Apple’s new software updates to be unveiled at the 2026 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) could be relatively modest, BloombergAccording to Mark Gurman.
In today’s “Power On” newsletter, Gurman said that iOS 27 will be unveiled at WWDC this year, and while it will bring further improvements to Apple Intelligence, the event will be “quite a mutated affair this year.” The main new software features will apparently be a “more personalized Siri with a chatbot interface,” as previously said, but the software platforms will generally focus on performance improvements, bug fixes, and design tweaks.
Gurman added that the first iOS 26.4 beta will be released to developers the week of February 23 and will include “some components” of the long-awaited improvements to Siri.
WWDC 2026 is likely to be announced at the end of March and will take place in the first or second week of June. Major new software updates revealed at the event will likely be available to developers in beta immediately after the keynote and released in the fall.
