Walmart Saturday Showdown is coming to Apple TV on February 21st.
Major League Soccer fans will be able to enjoy even more game highlights as part of Walmart’s Saturday Showdown, which debuts on Apple TV in February 2026.
Apple’s push for sports-related programming continues as the iPhone maker has now promised more Major League Soccer content. Throughout 2026, Apple TV subscribers in the United States will be able to watch MLS games for free, with select games highlighted as part of Sunday Night Soccer.
Starting February 21st, MLS fans will enjoy even more weekend soccer content with the Walmart Saturday Showdown coming to Apple’s streaming service.
The content of the new programming block will be shot using iPhones as part of Apple’s long-running Shot on iPhone campaign. Apple hardware will be used to capture matches and fan interactions. The best of the matches will be available on the Walmart platform in addition to Apple TV.
To promote the 2026 season and the World Cup, MLS debuted a promotional video called “The Call” in February. It’s a social campaign that invites players to view MLS content. The ad features renowned athletes and players such as Magic Johnson, Diego Luna, Matt Freese and more.
Other marketing efforts include a promotional video for the existing Sunday Night Soccer. The ad features a family on the couch intently watching Major League Soccer games on Apple TV. National campaigns for MLS content will also be strengthened by participating clubs and partners.
Regarding production changes affecting MLS regular season content, all pre-game, half-time and post-game content will be produced on-site in both English and Spanish. Previously, content for these segments was created remotely.
Apple also announced an agreement with EverPass, which will now have streaming Apple Sports properties at its commercial locations across the United States.
Overall, Apple continues to focus on sports-related content, as evidenced by the company’s recent announcements and properties.
Along with MLS and MLB games, Formula 1 races are available for free to Apple TV subscribers in the United States. Apple has also seen success with the movie “F1” and there is even talk of a possible sequel.
