iOS 27 rumor – better battery life for everyone

Apple is reportedly devoting iOS 27 development time to redesigning older parts of the iPhone operating system to extend battery life by improving performance.

It has already been claimed that iOS 27 will focus on Apple Intelligence, but Apple’s internal codenames for this work have also recently changed. Now Bloomberg says that the main focus of the OS update will be to rework existing features.

Specifically, Apple is said to be rewriting parts of iOS for the new update. it also removes long-standing code elements that have been replaced and also plans to improve the performance of some applications.

It is not known what functions are being rewritten or which elements are being removed. It’s also unclear if the app improvements will come directly because of this iOS redesign, or if Apple will update sites like Pages or Safari as well.

However, all of this should work on iOS 27 performance. It’s also an improvement, it’s all done to use the better performance to reduce battery consumption.

as a result, the update to iOS 27, which will be officially released around September 2026, should lead to increased battery life on all iPhones – assuming the report is accurate.

Separately, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to have longer battery life. The expected iPhone Fold was also predicted to feature the largest capacity battery ever in an iPhone.

However, in both cases it was also noted that the actual differences in battery life will also depend on the power/performance capabilities of the upcoming A20 processor.
