Apple Health now has an Average Convenience Store metric.
The Apple Health app has just been updated with two key changes – the new Average Sleep Time metric and the Blood Oxygen graph in the Vitals section.
With the release of the first iOS 26.4 developer beta on Monday, improvements were introduced to the Apple Podcasts and Apple Music apps. Another system application, Apple Health, has also been modified. It now offers additional sleep information to iPhone users.
To be more specific, Apple Health has received a dedicated Average Sleep Time metric, available as part of the new sleep highlight in the Sleep section. iOS users will be able to see what time they usually go to bed based on their sleep patterns over the past two weeks.
Ace MacRumors notes that the new Average Sleep Time metric will help users track their sleep as it exists alongside the Average Sleep Time metric available in iOS 26.3.
In addition to new sleep details, the Vitals view within Apple Health has been tweaked for users in the United States. Blood oxygen data is now back in the Vitals view after previously only being available as a separate metric in the Apple Health app.
Blood oxygen measurement displayed on iPhone due to Apple’s dispute with biotech firm Masimo. Apple has been accused of infringing Masimo’s patents related to blood oxygen measurement on wearable products such as the Apple Watch.
In order to circumvent the United States import ban on the Apple Watch, Apple removed blood oxygen detection from the device in January 2024, before making blood oxygen measurement available only on a paired iPhone in August 2025.
iOS 26.4 beta testing only started on Monday, and with future iOS updates we may see new health-related features. According to a February 2026 report, Apple will reportedly split its planned subscription service “Apple Health” into smaller versions of features.
