Google’s AI search results will make links clearer

Google says it will now display links more prominently in its AI-powered features in Search. Robby Stein, vice president of Google Search, announced Tuesday that a list of links will now appear in a pop-up window when you mouse over resources in AI Insights and AI Mode on a desktop, along with a description of each linked article and accompanying images.

Stein adds that Google will also display these “more descriptive and prominent link icons” in its AI responses on desktop and mobile. “Our testing shows that this new user interface is more engaging and makes it easier to access great content on the web,” writes Stein.
