Activity tracking platform Strava is introducing a new set of activity categories, including some of the most requested from the community. Here’s the news.
Strava says more activity categories are coming
Today, Strava is adding five new activity types to its platform, including:
- Basketball
- Cricket
- Dancing
- He fell
- Volleyball
This, according to the company, will give its “180 million+ global users more accurate ways to record the activities they already love.”
Previously, users who practiced any of these five activities had to log them under the general “Exercise” option, but now they will be able to track their performance more precisely along with the more than 50 types of sports already supported.
Strava says padel is a particularly notable addition given its rapid growth worldwide, with an estimated 30 million amateur players.
The company also said it plans to add more sports and activities in the future, but didn’t specify which ones or when users should expect them.
