Users will soon be able to mark messages as spoilers, so that their content is not immediately visible to recipients. Here are the details.
WhatsApp add ‘Spoiler’ as a formatting option
As you noticed WABetaInfothe latest TestFlight build of WhatsApp includes links to a feature that will allow users to mark messages as spoilers.
WABetaInfo it says the feature is “currently in development and not yet available for beta testing,” but outlines how it will most likely work once it’s released.
According to the report, the spoiler formatting option will appear alongside tools like Bold, Italic, and Strikethrough. When selected, it overlays the text with a gray bar that recipients will have to tap to see.

In terms of syntax, the spoiler formatting option will add two vertical lines to the selected message or words, so users will also be able to simply type ||double vertical lines before and after|| content they want to hide instead of always having to call up the formatting popup.
in addition WABetaInfo says that while the feature for text content is still in development, “there is no word on whether it will be compatible with other message types such as images.”
As is usually the case with references found in beta versions of WhatsApp, it is difficult to say exactly when the feature will be officially released.
However, since it’s also currently being tested on WhatsApp for Android beta, users probably won’t have to wait that long for ███████.
