With Apple Music Concerts, you’ll never miss a live show in your hometown

The upcoming iOS 26 Apple Music Concerts feature solves one of music lovers’ biggest gripes — finding out too late that your favorite artist has already passed through your neighborhood on a tour you didn’t know about.

This feature lets you see upcoming shows in your city with handy details on venues, tickets, setlists and more. You can also search for an artist tour to view all of their upcoming shows.

Apple Music Concerts will reportedly even notify you when a tour is coming up nearby. The feature, which is now available in iOS 26.4 beta 2, has not been available long enough for me to test it. But if it works like Apple Music notifications alerting you to new songs, it can be a lifesaver.

Unfortunately, it has one serious drawback. Here’s an overview of Apple Music concerts.

How to use Apple Music Concerts

With Apple Music, you can listen to all the music in the world, but you can only experience a real live performance once. That’s why it’s so heartbreaking to discover a favorite band playing in your city (or nearby) that you didn’t know about.

What are you supposed to do, check the pages of all your favorite bands every month? No, there is an easier way. Install iOS 26.4 (when Apple releases it to the public this spring). It will give you a single destination to see the artists performing in your neck of the woods. And it will supposedly notify you if a popular artist is nearby on tour.

Update to iOS 26.4

Concerts in Apple Music are only available in iOS 26.4, which is currently in beta testing. Apple will likely release the update sometime in March or April, but you can get it now by installing the iOS 26 public (or developer) beta, which you can read about in this how-to article.

The first time you launch Apple Music after an update, you’ll see a pop-up screen with the new Concerts feature. When it asks for permission to use your location, tap Allow when using the app.

To find Apple Music Concerts anytime later, tap Search tab, and then tap Concerts.

IN Popular section at the top, you’ll see big name actors coming to your area. Scroll through the list to view events further. This week, Next week and We are preparing more options will show all the artists performing in the next few weeks.

You can also tap Date to determine your own time frame. Tap the filters above or tap the calendar to set a specific start and end time. Tap Sex at the top to filter the results. Tap all the types of music you like, then tap View concerts.

You can also see List of concerts like a playlist so you know what songs are likely to come.

If you can’t do it on a specific date, you can check it out More upcoming concerts see other stops on the artist’s tour.

Tap the red location marker in the top right corner to find a different area – maybe you’d be willing to travel, or maybe you’d like to see a show while you’re on vacation. Tap Search cities find out what is happening in another city.

On an artist’s page in the Apple Music app, you’ll see a little “Upcoming Concerts” label above their name if they’re on tour (and Apple knows about it). Scroll down the page and towards the bottom (between Radio Shows and Listen More) you will see All upcoming concerts section.

Apple appears to be using Bandsintown (and possibly data from other services) to power the new concert search feature. This presumably means that bands of all sizes – not just those with records – can add their shows and setlists to the service.

Apple Music Concerts: A good start to a great feature

Apple Music Concerts will reportedly notify you when one of your favorite artists is on tour in your area. Kind of like the notifications an app sends you when a favorite artist releases new music. The feature hasn’t been around long enough to be tested yet.

The biggest downside is that there’s no way to tell exactly how far Apple Music Concerts go. In my testing, it seems to show places within an hour’s drive, but not much further.

In Ohio, a medium-sized state with five large cities, it is very common to travel an hour or more to see a particular act. Bands often make a single stop in the capital city of Columbus. I’d like Apple Music Concerts to let me set my own range or say which venues I’m willing to travel to. Lots of people are willing to travel far to see their favorite artists.
