Apple is rumored to launch a product in the week of March 2, with MacBook Pro models equipped with the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips being the most likely candidates.
Apple often holds events in March as one of the first events of the year. According to one report, this could be the case in 2026.
Writing for Sunday’s “Power On” newsletter for BloombergMark Gurman writes that Apple plans to launch the product, which is currently scheduled as early as “the week of March 2.”
This is not unusual for Apple. In 2022, she held an event on March 8. It did so in 2019 on March 25 and March 27, 2018. Over the years, it has launched several products via press release.
As for the exact date, March 2 itself seems unlikely, as Apple doesn’t tend to hold special events or product launches on Mondays, except during the week of WWDC presentations. A more likely date for this week would be March 3, as Apple prefers to launch on Tuesday at the earliest.

Gurman does not explicitly state what will actually be launched at the event. However, after discussing an update to the MacBook Pro line, he throws out that detail.
However, there is a bit of confusion because it says that the new MacBook Pros are attached to the macOS 26.3 cycle, which will run until March. It’s almost as if he’s writing that the event and the launch of macOS 23, which is probably a week from February 9th, don’t necessarily overlap.
Add to that the unlikelihood of Apple holding two events or separating product launches in the same month, and it seems likely that the MacBook Pro update will happen then.
These MacBook Pros are upgrades to the M5 Pro and M5 Max series, following a few months after the first launch of the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M5. What to expect from the models, the main changes will be the processor, but otherwise you can expect practically identical specifications to the M4 Pro and Max counterparts.
Bigger design changes, including the use of OLED, should arrive as part of the M6 update in late 2026.
Another candidate is the iPhone 17e, which the report says will be launched “immediately”. According to Apple’s plan, “immediately” could still be a month-long wait, making the smartphone a possibility for said launch.
The iPhone 17e, which will replace the iPhone 16e, is expected to have a 6.1-inch display, an A19 Pro chip and MagSafe, but retain the same chassis and general design as its predecessor.
However, Gurman adds that Mac Studio will be restored, but it shouldn’t be that long after the Mac’s spring refresh. This apparently indicates that he doubts the Mac Studio update in early March.
As for whether Apple is actually holding an event, whether it has a debut press release, and what it actually is, we all have less than a month to wait to find out.
