Earlier today, Apple held a special “It’s Glowtime” event. At the event, Tim Cook and team announced the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, Apple Watch Series 10, AirPods 4 and more.
If you’re going to pre-order the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, or iPhone 16 Pro Max, Apple has a way to pre-lock that pre-order configuration to make things even faster when pre-orders go live on Friday, September 13.
Tonight, the company launched its pre-approval process for those looking to pre-order the iPhone 16. This process allows you to check your eligibility, choose the iPhone model and configuration you want, confirm the upgrade with your carrier, and get pre-approved for the iPhone Upgrade Program.
Going through this process will give you a noticeable advantage over others trying to complete all these steps when the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro become available for pre-order at 5:00 a.m. PDT on Friday, September 13th (creepy). Those who complete this process can check in at that time, confirm their order and go about their day.
Should I be pre-approved?
If you try to complete all of these steps when pre-orders go live, you may experience a delayed delivery if enough people get their pre-orders before you. It’s always crazy to grab the exact iPhone you want, and you’re competing with potentially millions of other people, so make sure you’re getting all the benefits.
The nice thing about this program is that you can still trade in your iPhone right up until pre-orders go live – you’ll just have to go through the loan pre-approval process again. You can also still choose to ship your iPhone home or pick it up at your local Apple Store.
You can get pre-approved for your iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro in the iPhone Upgrade Program through the Apple Store app or on the Apple Store website.
