Apple has invited the tech press to a “special Apple experience” on March 4, but it may play out a little differently than the company’s standard press event.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that instead of announcing everything at a single keynote, Apple is planning a “three-day flurry of announcements” — likely announced online and culminating in an “experience” on March 4 that will consist of three events in New York, London and Shanghai, where journalists will be offered a chance to see the upcoming products.
Similarly, John Gruber of Daring Fireball speculated that the experience could be a “hands-on thing with in-person demos”.
Apple will reportedly announce at least five new products during that time, including a budget MacBook. Other reported options: iPhone 17e, iPad Air with M4 chip, new entry-level iPad and improved MacBook Air models and new MacBook Pro models. Gurman said all of those products are available this spring, but sounded less certain about which ones would be announced when.
