Apple’s March 4 launch event: New products and what to expect – 9to5Mac

Apple is holding a special press event at three locations around the world on Wednesday, March 4, and rumors suggest there are plenty of new products that could be launched. Here’s everything to expect, including launch hardware, format and more.

Format: In-person press event, possibly after multi-day runs

Apple is doing something unusual with its March product launches. Historically, the company has occasionally had a live event or video highlight in March and other times launched new products via press releases. There were also instances where the press was invited to private briefings that he could not divulge in advance.

This March, it looks like Apple will take a unique approach.

The company invited journalists to a “special Apple Experience” held simultaneously in New York, London and Shanghai. The invitations were not created under an NDA, so they quickly spread online.

Well-informed sources like Mark Gurman have said that Apple intends to introduce new products every day before March 4th. This means we could get a hardware launch via press release on Monday March 2nd, Tuesday March 3rd and Wednesday March 4th. Then the press could try out all the new products in person.

All of this means that there probably won’t be an “event video”, but we can get shorter videos every day alongside new product announcements.

New Products: Launching all potential hardware

Apple has a particularly large batch of new products rumored to be coming soon. New Macs, iPads and even a new iPhone are expected soon.

Here’s a look at what could be launching on March 4 or in the days just before:

There are also several Apple Home “placeholders” that have been rumored for some time but have yet to ship. Reports suggest the hardware is being held back by delayed Siri upgrades, so it’s unlikely they’ll launch in early March – but it’s always a possibility.

Wildcard products include:

9 to 5 Macs own Chance Miller will be at the event in New York, and we’ll have full coverage of everything Apple announced at the launch.
