In iOS 26.4, Apple added the Average Sleep Time metric to the Sleep section of the Health app, allowing users to better track how convenience stores affect sleep quality.

As part of the new Sleep Highlight, Apple reports the time you went to bed and the time you usually go to bed, based on averages over a two-week period.

In iOS 26.3, Apple displayed the average sleep time for the past seven days. This highlight is still there, but now it’s accompanied by a daily bedtime reading.

Apple has also updated the Vitals data in the US and once again lists blood oxygen levels in a line graph overview available every day. In iOS 26.3 and earlier versions of iOS 26, there was a section for blood oxygen levels, but the chart did not include blood oxygen measurements.

Blood Oxygen was available as a separate metric in the Vitals section, but is now visible in the Vitals overview. The Vitals feature did not fully support blood oxygen due to Apple’s ongoing legal dispute with Masimo. Masimo accused Apple of infringing Masimo’s blood oxygen sensing patents and secured an import ban from the US International Trade Commission.

Apple had to remove blood oxygen sensing from the Apple Watch in early 2024 in order to continue selling the Apple Watch in the US, but Apple was able to add it back in August 2025 with blood oxygen reading only available on the iPhone. In the US, it is still not possible to measure blood oxygen with the Apple Watch and see the results directly on the wrist

iOS 26.4 is available to developers and public beta testers, with a public launch planned for spring.
