Almost exactly a year after the launch of the iPhone 16e, Apple is preparing to launch the iPhone 17e, according to Mark Gurman. The iPhone 17e will feature the improved A19 chip from the iPhone 17 series, plus MagSafe charging and move Apple’s own mobile chips. Equally important, the company apparently plans to keep the price at $599, despite skyrocketing RAM and storage prices.
Gurman says Apple plans to aggressively introduce the iPhone 17e to emerging markets and businesses. He claims that with almost no changes expected from the Pixel 10a and Samsung focusing on the higher end of the market, Apple sees an opening.
We also expect Apple to launch an updated iPad and iPad Air around the same time, along with special M5-powered MacBook Pros and MacBook Airs. The base model iPad will move to the A18 chip, which means it will support Apple Intelligence, while the iPad Air will move to M4 and switch to an OLED display.
Gurman says most of those launches should be expected in early March.
