It’s now easier for Claude to login to your WordPress site | TechCrunch

On Thursday, WordPress launched a new Claude connector that allows site owners to share back-end data with Anthropic’s chatbot system. Users can control what specific data they want to share, and access can also be revoked if the user chooses.

Notably, Claude has read-only access, which means he won’t be able to change anything in the user’s CMS. However, last year WP claimed it would eventually provide “write-in” access to MCP integration, presumably allowing users to perform editorial tasks directly from a connected chatbot of their choice.

Either way, once Claude is linked to an account, users can ask the chatbot all kinds of questions about the site data it’s been given access to, from summarizing monthly site traffic to analyzing which posts have low user engagement.

WordPress also provided a list of chatbot template prompts – things like “Show backlogged comments on my blog” or “Which of my sites has the most traffic?” or “Show which posts are generating the most discussion.” Other features include comment management (“Show pending comments on my blog”) and plugin management (“What plugins are installed on my main site?”).
