Yesterday, Apple delivered developer beta 1 for macOS Tahoe 26.4, and now the same release is available for public beta testers. Here’s the news.
What’s new in macOS Tahoe 26.4 public beta
If you want to get early access to the next macOS software update, you can do so by joining the free public beta program at beta.apple.com.
New to public testers today is macOS 26.4 beta 1, which is the exact same software that was released to developers yesterday.
macOS 26.4 comes with four major changes so far.
Battery charge limit is now available. Like a similar iOS option, the new feature lets you set your Mac’s maximum charge from 80% to 100%.
If you’re a Safari user, the compact tab bar has returned to System Preferences. It was removed from the first version of macOS Tahoe.
New pop-ups will prompt users to launch Rosetta apps as a reminder that these apps will no longer be supported in macOS 27. Apple has previously confirmed that macOS 26 is the latest release that will be available for Intel Macs.
Finally, Apple’s release notes say that the corner radius bug first introduced in Tahoe has been fixed in this update. They say: “Fixed: Window resizing indicator not following window corner shape.”
The notes for macOS 26.3 similarly said it was fixed, but it later turned out to be a bug.
