MagSafe Monday: TopMade Wallet Review – Find My and Massive Storage – 9to5Mac

Find My is quietly one of the best things Apple has done in the last decade. It started with tracking your iPhone, expanded to Macs and iPads, and eventually covered physical items with AirTags. Now that third-party accessories are adopting the standard, it’s becoming a real platform that I think is very underrated. The TopMade MagSafe Wallet integrates this technology directly with Find My. It eliminates the need for a separate AirTag bump while keeping your wallet traceable within Apple’s native ecosystem.

MagSafe Monday: Every Monday, Bradley Chambers looks at the latest and greatest in MagSafe and wireless charging to help you get the most out of your Apple devices that support wireless charging.

Find my integration and battery

The main feature of this wallet is full support for Find My. Unlike other wallets where you have to insert the AirTag into a dedicated case, the tracking technology is built right into the wallet. Once you’ve paired it, you can see its real-time location on a map, play a sound if you leave it near your house, and get a “Left Behind” alert if you leave your house without it.

The tracker is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that lasts up to six months on a single charge. Interestingly, you don’t need any specific cable to charge. The wallet itself charges wirelessly via MagSafe. It eliminates the need to keep spare coin cell batteries in the junk drawer.

Capacitance and magnets

If you’re a minimalist, this might not be for you. The TopMade wallet is designed for those who want to carry more, but at the same time use MagSafe. It features four separate card slots, but can hold a maximum of nine cards. This is great if you need to carry a credit card, work card, work ID, driver’s license, etc. all at once. It also includes RFID blocking to keep your credit and debit safe from skimming attacks

Since nine cards add considerable weight, the magnets must be strong to hold. TopMade claims a strength of 4,000g, which the company says is five times stronger than Apple’s official wallet. In practice, this means that it should not slide off your phone when you take it out of your pocket.

Like many modern accessories, the MagSafe does double duty as a kickstand. The adjustable hinge ranges from 15 to 170 degrees and supports portrait and landscape modes. This is perfect for watching notifications on your desk or watching a movie on the plane.

Wrap

Overall, the TopMade MagSafe Wallet is a useful beast and a great MagSafe wallet option. It’s 0.67 inches thick, so it adds bulk to you when you’re wearing it, but the trade-off is plenty of card storage and native Find My tracking. If you don’t mind losing your wallet or just need to carry more than three cards, this is a good choice for a MagSafe wallet with Find My support.
