Qobuz, the popular high-definition music streaming service, is rolling out a brand new CarPlay app this week. The company touts that the new CarPlay app offers a “more robust and efficient listening experience.”
For those unfamiliar, Qobuz is a streaming music service that focuses on high quality lossless audio playback. It is often seen as an alternative to services like Apple Music and Spotify for listeners who care about sound quality and high-resolution downloadable music.
In a blog post this week, Qobuz announced its new CarPlay app, which features an interface that’s “more elegant, more intuitive and far more powerful” than before.
- Toggle random selection mode for any selection.
- Direct access to entire albums during playback.
- Explore expert editorial recommendations on the Discover tab.
- Filter content by genre.
- Add albums to favorites with one tap.
- Sort your collection alphabetically.
Qobuz also now integrates with Siri using Apple’s SiriKit audio interfaces, first introduced with iOS 13 in 2019. For example, you can now say, “Hey Siri, play Coldplay on Qobuz” and start playback using just your voice.
The Qobuz app is available as a free download on the App Store. The service offers a downloadable music store and a monthly streaming music subscription for $12.99 per month.
