Silo season 3 is coming: Here’s everything we know right now – 9to5Mac

Apple TV has become a popular service for sci-fi fans, with shows like Severance and Pluribus proving big hits. Another popular series is the dystopian thriller Silo, whose 3rd season will be released later this year. Here’s everything we know about Silo Season 3 so far.

Season 3 expands the story beyond the silos

Silo season 2 ended on a bit of a cliffhanger.

While the series up to this point has been set almost entirely in underground silos, the Season 2 finale shook things up.

Creator and showrunner Graham Yost confirmed that it’s a sign of things to come:

“Yeah, we’re going to be outside and we’re going to be out in the world and there’s going to be sunshine,” Yost said, speaking to parts of Season 3 that will be brighter.

As anyone who has read the entire Silo book series knows, there will be a lot of Silo-free scenes in season 3.

New lead actors are being added to the cast

In conjunction with this final cliffhanger, Silo season 3 will add two new main actors to the cast.

As first seen in the Season 2 finale, Ashley Zukerman and Jessica Henwick will be joining the current cast in a big way next season.

Juliette and the rest of the Silo characters you know and love will still be around, but with a few new faces as well.

There are a total of four seasons coming up with a full green Apple TV

Silo is based on a trilogy of books by Hugh Howey, so the show’s creators have a preset template to follow.

The story of Book 1 was split into both Seasons 1 and 2 of the show. Books 2 and 3 are expected not to be followed strictly chronologically in the TV adaptation. Instead, the events of both books will intertwine during the upcoming seasons 3 and 4.

Apple TV has already lit up all four seasons of Silo. And once Season 4 airs, the series will be complete.

“It’s been a richly rewarding experience adapting Hugh’s epic novels with our partners at Apple, and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to bring this complete story to the screen over the course of four seasons,” said showrunner and executive producer Graham Yost. “With the final two chapters of ‘Silo,’ we can’t wait to give fans of the show an incredibly satisfying conclusion to the many mysteries and unanswered questions contained within the walls of these silos.”

When to expect Silo season 3 on Apple TV

Apple TV already announced in May 2025 that Silo Season 3 has officially ended filming.

Post-production work shouldn’t take more than a year, which means we expect Silo Season 3 to premiere around summer or fall 2026.

In theory, it could happen sooner, but Silo’s absence from last week’s big Apple TV media event makes it unlikely. However, as mentioned in a recent interview with star Rebecca Ferguson, 2026 is definitely the plan.

You can watch the first two seasons of Silo here on Apple TV.

Apple TV is available for $12.99 per month, or you can get it at a discount through the Apple One bundle.
