The iPhone 17e will have MagSafe, but not ProMotion, Prosser reiterates

Leaker Jon Prosser is back and says he’s absolutely certain of all the same previous reports about the iPhone 17e, except perhaps that it will use an integrated A19 processor.

Jon Prosser is currently being sued by Apple over his leaks, but continues to post videos claiming what’s in store for the iPhone. He recently claimed that the iPhone 18 Pro would move the front-facing camera to the left — although sources say he misread the translation, and that’s not happening.

Now he has published a report and commentary on the expected iPhone 17e. It claims that the model will:

  • Enjoy the dynamic island
  • Priced from $599
  • Start at 256 GB
  • Have a 6.1-inch screen at 60 Hz without ProMotion
  • One 48MP rear camera
  • Definitely in black or white
  • It may have a third color variant, perhaps lavender
  • Have 8GB of RAM
  • Use the A19 integrated processor
  • Add MagSafe charging

Perhaps with the exception of the A19 binned processor and the lavender color, all of this has been rumored before. Most of this means that the iPhone 17e is a minor update to the iPhone 16e, which is also already expected.

Previous reports claimed that the iPhone 17e will use the A19 processor. This is the same model that was used in the 2025 iPhone 17, and this meant that this model performed better than the iPhone 16e.

An associated processor is one that has had a problem during manufacturing that means it doesn’t work as well as intended. It will still work, but the performance will be a little worse.

Prosser doesn’t mention the front-facing camera moving or not, but says he’s “not 100% sure” about Dynamic Island. However, if Apple sticks with the older notch, he says the company should be embarrassed.

The iPhone 17e is currently expected to launch in mid-February 2026.
