Rumors of Apple launching new MacBook Pros with the M5 Pro have been circulating for some time now. With deliveries of the M4 Pro/Max models delayed by several weeks, all signs point to an early launch.

But when exactly will Apple make its move? BloombergMark Gurman has now offered a more specific timeline.

Wait until March for the MacBook Pro M5 Pro

All indications initially pointed to Apple unveiling its new high-end MacBook Pros with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips in January, but that never happened. Attention then shifted to the early February announcement. Even this window has now passed without any official statement from Apple.

In the latest edition of his Power On newsletter BloombergMark Gurman says the wait for the M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro will drag on for a few more weeks. Apple is apparently planning to announce new laptops in the week of March 2nd.

“Meanwhile, the new MacBook Pros are tied to the macOS 26.3 cycle, which runs until March,” says Gurman.

iPhone 17e may debut before M5 Pro MacBook Pro

The start of the March unveiling would mean that Apple will be the first to reveal the iPhone 17e. A recent report suggested that the budget iPhone could debut on February 19, exactly one year after the launch of its predecessor. After that, Apple will apparently release the first developer beta version of iOS 26.4. It will arrive in the week starting February 23 with a new Siri powered by Gemini.

Gurman also says the iPhone 17e is “due soon.” Two of its most notable updates include a faster A19 chip and support for MagSafe charging. More importantly, his sources indicate that Apple will keep the price at $599. The company is likely to aggressively market the iPhone 17e in newer markets and enterprise environments.

Apple will also introduce the M5 MacBook Air, a refreshed entry-level iPad with an A18 chip, and a Mac Studio with more powerful chips in the coming months.
