The MacRumors Show: What’s Coming to the ‘Apple Experience’?

We talk about everything to expect at Apple’s upcoming March 4th “Experience” on this week’s episode of The MacRumors Show.

Earlier this week, Apple today announced a “special Apple Experience” for media in New York, London and Shanghai, which takes place on March 4, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. ET. Notably, Apple specifically uses the word “experience” rather than “event.” Unlike the fully streamed event from Apple Park, the March 4th event in other cities will likely be smaller.

The launch of several new Apple products is believed to be imminent. We will most likely see the announcement of the iPhone 17e, a specific successor to the iPhone 16e, with alleged upgrades including the A19 chip, MagSafe, and Apple’s C1X and N1 wireless chips. The device will apparently have a notch despite earlier rumors mentioning Dynamic Island, and pricing will continue to start at $599 in the United States.

A brand new budget MacBook with an A18 Pro chip, a 12.9-inch display and a selection of fun color options is likely to arrive. The MacBook Pro is also expected to get M5 Pro and M5 Max chips and PCIe 5.0 support for faster SSD speeds.

In addition, the iPad Air is due to bump into an M4 chip, while the entry-level iPad is expected to get an A18 chip with Apple Intelligence support.

An updated MacBook Air, Mac Studio and Studio Display are also options, along with a new Apple TV and HomePod mini. The event could also include a demonstration of immersive Formula 1 content on Apple Vision Pro.

We also discuss iOS 26.4, which is now available in beta. The update includes a new Playlist Playground feature that allows users to create a text-prompted playlist, improvements to the design of Apple Music, videos in Apple Podcasts, end-to-end encryption (E2EE) for ‌RCS‌ messages, and more.
