The new Apple Sainte-Catherine opens today in Montreal
The redesigned store reflects Apple’s commitment to downtown Montreal, revitalizing the historic building and doubling its size.
Today, the new Apple Sainte-Catherine opens its doors to customers in a redesigned space. Located in a historic building on the busy corner of Sainte-Catherine Street West and Rue de la Montagne, Apple Sainte-Catherine more than doubles the size of the previous store and expands Apple’s presence in downtown Montreal. The store showcases Apple’s product and service innovations while inviting customers to experience best-in-class support from highly knowledgeable Apple specialists in a beautifully redesigned space.
“For nearly 20 years, we’ve been proud to be part of a downtown Montreal community whose spirit of creativity and innovation continues to inspire us,” said Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s senior vice president of retail and people. “We are incredibly excited to build on this long-standing relationship and create a destination where our customers can experience the best of Apple, from our innovative products to the expert care and support of our amazing team.”
Apple Sainte-Catherine has been thoughtfully designed to create a welcoming space where everyone is welcome. The store offers a variety of tables and seat heights, as well as access paths that give wheelchair users more room to navigate. The store’s facade mixes historic Saint-Marc stone from Quebec with local granite, while local copper craftsmen have extensively restored the cornice that tops the building.
A dedicated Apple Pickup area at the back of the store makes it easy for customers to shop at the Apple Store online and pick up products in store at a time that suits them, while the Genius Bar provides support from trusted Apple specialists. Customers can also get support only available at an Apple retail store, including personalized shopping with Apple specialists, flexible monthly financing options, competitive pricing and expert advice.
With the free Today at Apple program, attendees can learn how to frame a photo, edit a video, or get started with Apple Intelligence on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Today, Apple also offers courses that teach the basics of using assistive technology and features like VoiceOver on the iPhone and iPad.
At Apple Sainte-Catherine, a team of nearly 200 highly trained specialists speak dozens of languages together. They are ready to welcome customers and share new tips to help them get the most out of their equipment.
To celebrate the opening, Montreal illustrator and designer Catherine Potvin will lead live iPad art demonstrations on Friday, January 16th and Saturday, January 17th. At select times on both days, customers can receive an illustration by Potvin drawn on their Apple retail bags.
Apple has been operating in Canada for more than 40 years and currently has 28 retail stores across the country, including five in Quebec. Customers are encouraged to embark on a creative journey across Quebec by exploring film, television, music, books, podcasts and apps created locally; listen to a curated Apple Music Sainte-Catherine playlist; and registered for Today at Apple sessions.
