Apple is in its second round of developer betas for the current generation, releasing new builds of iOS 26.4, iPadOS 26.4, watchOS 26.4, tvOS 26.4, visionOS 26.4, and macOS Tahoe 26.4 for testing.

The second developer beta for iOS 26.4, iPadOS 26.4, watchOS 26.4, tvOS 26.4, visionOS 26.4, and macOS Tahoe 26.4 follows the first, which arrived on February 16.

  • iOS 26.4 build 2 is 23E5218e and replaces 23E5207q
  • iPadOS 26.4 build 2 is 23E5218e and replaces 23E5207q
  • watchOS 26.4 build 2 is 23T5221e and replaces 23T5209m
  • visionOS 26.4 build 2 is 23O5220e and replaces 23O5209m
  • tvOS 26.34 build 2 is 23L5219e and replaces 23L5208m
  • macOS Tahoe 26.4 build 2 is 25E5218f and replaces 25E5207k

There are also second build candidates for macOS 15.7.5 and macOS 14.8.5.

The first iOS 26.4 developer beta included changes to Apple Podcasts, Apple Music, end-to-end encryption for RCS, and activation of Stolen Device Protection, among others.

AppleInsider and Apple strongly recommends that users do not install beta operating systems or beta software on hardware they consider “critical” or primarily used. Instead, they should keep backups of their data and try to use secondary hardware that is less maintenance intensive.

For regular users who want a less risky experience, Apple usually releases the public beta version of its updates shortly after the developer counterpart. A more combat-hardened version of the update, with potentially fewer bugs or issues, this is the version that interested public should try, not the developer build.
