tvOS 26.4 beta 1 arrived this week, confirming what Apple recently hinted at: the iTunes Movies & TV Shows app has been completely removed.
tvOS 26.4 is missing the older iTunes app for movies and TV shows
Last week, Apple began notifying iTunes Store users that its “Wishlist” feature would soon be discontinued.
iTunes Wishlist allows users to save media items for potential purchase at a later date. But since iTunes has been on the decline for a long time, the move came as no surprise.
Apple’s advice to users who will miss their iTunes wish list is to save these titles to the TV app’s watch list.
The timing of the move seemed odd, as Apple has long pushed users into the TV app for purchased content.

However, it now appears to be deliberately coordinated with the first tvOS 26.4 beta.
That’s because tvOS 26.4 officially removes the standalone iTunes Movies and TV Shows apps on Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD (via Aaron Perris).
The functionality of these apps is almost completely replicated in the Apple TV app. And it has been for years, with the exception of the Wish List.
You can still access your wishlist items in iOS 26.4 beta 1, but this may change in a future beta.
However, if you use an Apple TV, access to your old iTunes wish list has been removed in tvOS 26.4.
