Update your Mac, iPad, and more now to fix bugs

Apple released macOS Tahoe 26.3, iPadOS 26.3, watchOS 26.3, and tvOS 26.3 on Wednesday, bringing a slew of bug fixes and under-the-hood improvements aimed at smoothing out the experience across all of its devices. While the updates don’t bring flashy new features, they do address stability issues and performance issues that have cropped up since Cycle 26 launched.

These come at the same time as iOS 26.3, which includes new features along with bug fixes. (Read our news article: iOS 26.3 Brings These 3 Changes to Your iPhone.)

Your Mac needs macOS Tahoe 26.3

macOS updates can bring big changes to Apple computers. Sometimes there are new apps, major UI changes, and more. macOS Tahoe 26.3 is not one of them – it focuses exclusively on bug fixes and security patches. There are no new features.

The same applies to iPadOS 26.3. Apple’s release notes make it clear that tablet users shouldn’t expect any noticeable changes: “This update provides important bug fixes and security updates” is all that needs to be said.

Apple Watch, Apple TV and Vision Pro users should expect the same minor updates.

Install these updates anyway

The lack of new features is disappointing, but don’t dismiss macOS Tahoe 26.3, iPadOS 26.3, etc. Given the focus on bug fixes and security improvements, it would be wise to install them sooner rather than later.

Even without major features, these maintenance releases often provide the kind of polish that keeps Apple’s ecosystem running smoothly. Don’t put up with mistakes any longer than you have to.

To download the macOS Tahoe update, go to the Apple menu  > About this Mac. Then click Software update. Alternatively, install the new version from the App Store. (Note: As of this writing, Apple has not yet updated the version of macOS in the App Store. But it should happen soon.)

iPad users can install iPadOS 26.3 directly by opening it Settings application and we go to General > Software update. Alternatively, update the tablet by connecting it to a Mac (or a computer running iTunes).
